RISE OF THE PINK LADIES
ABOUT THE EVENT

Think Virtual Book Club, but only better because it’s TV!

We’ll start with an icebreaker that relates to the episode(s), then we’ll have a group discussion led by an ATX TV Staff Member followed by any questions or discussion points you thought of that we may have missed. Finally, we’ll end with anyone who wants to share what they are currently watching and loving.

Since this is one of our community events, we’d love for our ATX TV Members to attend with your camera turned on, but no one will be forced to contribute unless you want. This will be a free flowing conversation, but we will also utilize Zoom’s hand raising and chat functions as needed to make sure everyone who wants to speak has a chance!

About Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies:
Welcome back to Rydell High. This year, things will be different—that is, if the Pink Ladies have anything to say about it.

Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies
is a musical series that takes place four years before the original Grease. In 1954, before rock ‘n’ roll ruled and before the T-Birds were the coolest in the school, four fed-up outcasts dare to have fun on their own terms, sparking a moral panic that will change Rydell High forever. The series stars Marisa Davila as Jane, Cheyenne Isabel Wells as Olivia, Ari Notartomaso as Cynthia, and Tricia Fukuhara as Nancy.

About Annabel Oakes:
Annabel Oakes is the creator, showrunner, and one of the directors of Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies on Paramount+. Prior to Grease, Annabel wrote and directed the TV pilot for Youtube’s The Edge of Seventeen, based on the movie of the same name. She also served as both a writer and director on Netflix’s Atypical and has written on numerous other shows including MTV’s Awkward, Amazon’s Transparent, and Starz/HBO Max’s MINX.
